neato

the only thing is the sky is kind of dull
:iconsnagletooth:
Yeah I thought it helped with the contrast!

i can see what your saying but i dont know

Curious style :) Much like early 1980's 'modern art' or stuff from the 1920's.

thanks I'm a big fan of Mondrian.

I love the way you used the space and line.
I read what you said about contrast in the sky but Ima have to agree with popzilla.
The colour within the sky itself is sweet, but just isnt working with the 4 bold colours of the buildings / paint smears.
That being said, its not about to be changed and its still a wicked piece..personally I would have liked to see a white sky.
But thats just me..I get to say shit like this because I paint too :)
Hope ya dont mind constructive crits and that sorta thing.
Definately not trying to discredit you in any way.

Don't worry about the crits I love it! I agree, a bunch of new paintings I have done in this style have a white sky I have aloso tried incorperating large blocks of yellow..These are all just works in progress really..I work on the same basis as Mondrian really..I'm just trying to get a composition to trully feel right! This was just a step in that direction! Thank you for your thoughts much appreciated!

i read your above response to a critique comparing your thought process to mondrian... i can totally see it.

this piece definitely has that feel to it. mondrian did use grey in a few of his early pieces, and decided that it took away from what he was trying to do. like the person above said, this definitely would of been better without the grey.

but regardless, your work still kicksass to the point that im favoring like 3/4 of your pieces lol.
